Donna Lefferdo November 2000, The Essential 7 Kit

Hello Everyone!

Many of you have expressed an interest in learning more and more about how to use Essential Oils in every day use. I am very excited to share with you ways in which to do so.

This issue will focus on the “Essential 7” Kit. It contains 3 single oils: Lavender, Lemon, Peppermint, and 4 blends: Joy, PanAway, Peace & Calming, and Purification.

This is a great starter kit for anyone interested in Essential Oils and Young Living products. Personally, I feel you get a lot of “bang for your buck” and it’s a great way to sample a variety of oils.

Lavender is considered the “Swiss Army Knife” of all the oils, being the most versatile oil. Great for burns, sunburn, skin irritations- ideal for skin care, rashes, cuts, bruises, allergies, headaches, herpes, and muscles soreness. Considered antitumoral, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, calming to the Central Nervous System-can be used for depression. As you can see, the list seems endless. When in doubt, use Lavender.

My daily Lavender ritual: After showering, I apply 1 drop to hands, rub together and pat on face; 2 drops to hands, rub together and pat on breasts (antitumoral). Can be used as a deodorant. Need a lift? Apply 1 drops to hands, rub together, cup and breathe deeply for 1 minute. Will lift your spirits and clear your sinuses too!

Lemon has antiseptic, disinfectant, antibacterial, antiviral-like properties. Great for digestive problems, sore throats, herpes, warts, shingles, improves memory, microcirculation, lymphatic and immune function. Add a drop or two in your glass/bottle of water and drink. Diffuse or add 10-12 drops to a spray bottle. Great for cleaning and wiping up, refreshes the air too!

Peppermint supports digestion, expels worms, pain-relieving, anti-infectious, anti-fungal, antibacterial. Can heighten or restore sense of taste, improves memory and concentration, reduces fevers, headaches, respiratory infections, stimulates the gallbladder. Mix in a spray bottle with Lavender and water, or mix both in unscented massage oil creating a muscle liniment, heavenly! Try licking a fraction of a drop of Peppermint. WoW, what an incredible breath refresher.

Joy is an exotic blend, uplifting, bringing joy to the heart, inspiring romance, helps with overcoming grief, depression and despair. Place on heart chakra, behind ears, wrists.

PanAway helps relieve pain and inflammation, increases circulation. Beneficial for muscle, bone and joint discomfort. Good for general aches and pains.

Peace & Calming is specifically designed for diffusing. Promotes relaxation. Massage on bottom of feet and shoulders to promote a good night’s sleep.

Purification is an antiseptic blend for diffusing to purify, cleanse the air, neutralize mildew, cigarette smoke & unpleasant odors. Add a few drops to your washing machine, or add 10 drops to a spray bottle and use for cleaning. Neutralizes the poison of insect bites.

Feel free to email me to share your personal experiences and favorite uses with the oils. Pass a copy on to your friends, downline, or anyone interested in the oils. Please let me know if you do not wish to receive future newsletters.

Brightest Blessings!

Donna Lefferdo December 2000 Issue No. 2

Hello everyone!

It’s cold and flu season time so I thought discussing the “Golden Touch 1” kit would be appropriate. This kit contains 7 essential oil blends that can benefit respiratory, digestive and endocrine function. With the holiday season right around the corner where we have a tendency to “indulge”, and “stress” levels seem to rise, our body becomes very taxed. Here’s a great kit to help us through the season!

Endoflex is an oil blend that can help with thyroid, endocrine and hormonal balance improving metabolism. Apply on chest, abdomen, wrists, throat, lower back, base of big toe (thyroid point).

Di-Tone assists in digestive irregularities and disturbances, excess gas and bloating. Has been found to rid animals of parasites by applying to their feet. Massage 1-2 drops behind the ear for morning sickness. Apply to bottom of feet, abdomen, add 1-2 drops to a glass of water, or place 1 drop on tongue.

Melrose includes 2 melaleucas that are renowned for their antiseptic properties. Used for burns, cuts, scrapes, rashes, bruised tissue. Very beneficial for animals. Has antibacterial, antifungal and anti-infectious qualities. Diffuse or create spray bottle to dispel unpleasant odors, apply topically to skin, place 1-2 drops on a cotton ball and place in ear for earaches.

Thieves is one of my favorites, a must for the cold/flu season. Highly antiviral, antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-infectious. Was found to have a 99.96 % kill rate against airborne bacteria. Apply to chest, bottom of feet, throat, diffuse in home/work environment. Mix with a carrier oil before applying to chest/throat if skin is sensitive.

Raven is a soothing blend to support the respiratory system, lungs, and bronchial tubes. It contains an oil called “Ravensara”, from Madagascar. May help alleviate symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis. Apply to chest, throat, feet, place a drop on pillow at night.

Juvaflex is designed to help support the liver and lymphatic cleansing and detoxification. Anger and hate are stored in the liver. Juvaflex supports breaking addictions. Apply to wrists, over liver or Vitaflex points on the feet.

RC gives relief to respiratory congestion, colds, sore throats. Apply to feet/toes, chest, neck, add to humidifier, diffuse home, make a spray bottle. Contains 4 different eucalyptus oils including myrtle, pine, spruce, marjoram, lavender, cypress and peppermint.

Last but not least, ImmuPower, an oil blend that is not in this kit, but I wouldn’t be without. A powerful blend that helps support and strengthen the immune system. Contains frankincense, cistus,
oregano, Idaho tansy, black cumin, clove, hyssop, ravensara, mountain savory. Massage to bottom of feet, chest, 4 drops along spine. Place 1-2 drops on cotton ball and place in ear for earaches.

Happy Holidays!

Avoid eye contact with the oils. In case of accidental eye contact, put 1-2 drops of any pure vegetable oil in the eye, call your Doctor if necessary. Never use water, and never drop oil directly into ear canal.

If skin is sensitive, add any pure carrier oil to the essential oils or to the skin (apricot, almond, grapeseed, vegetable oil).

Next month: What would you like me to discuss? How the oils are used for emotional releasing? Call/email me with your suggestions, personal experiences and favorite uses with the oils.

Have a joyous holiday season!

In Love and Gratitude

Living With Passion by Donna Lefferdo
Source: Living With Passion, by Peter L. Hirsch

I've always admired people who live their life with passion. To me, passion seems to be the catalyst for a fulfilling and purposeful life. I've always thought of myself as passionate. But I wasn't sure how to go about putting it all together so that I could feel empowered, make life changes, and co-create the life I desired.

A few of years ago, I came across a wonderful little book, "Living With Passion", by Peter L. Hirsch. It helped create a paradigm shift allowing me to see things differently. This started the many wonderful changes in my life. I was headed in a new direction. After 24 years of Nursing, I changed careers and started a home-based business. Having control of my schedule was important to me. I wanted more time for myself and my family. I also wanted to do something I loved and could make a living at.

It didn’t happen over night, it took time to evolve but I was “willing to do what it takes”. Like a mantra, I kept repeating, “Think of moving through these changes like a pack horse, not a race horse. It’s a marathon, not a sprint”. I took a giant leap of faith, started trusting in the process, stayed focused, and let the Divine Plan unfold.
By creating a vacuum in my life, my dreams were birthed. Getting out of my own way allowed Spirit to work through me because “Spirit knows its business”.

It has been 8 years since I resigned from Nursing. I have a successful private practice in massage and the healing arts, a home-based business, traveling both for work and pleasure, and a new home that I love. I was published for the first time in the Essential Edge Magazine this year, and created my first Newsletter. I have met the most incredible people and friends networking, and every day is a new growth experience. I hope the following information will be food for thought for those that want to make certain life changes.

Peter L. Hirsch talks about the 10 Simple Secrets That Guarantee Your Success:

#1 Success Secret: Challenge! He said that challenge is the catalyst for success. The word literally means false accusations, it's made up. We make up challenges to serve our needs, desires, and purpose. Hirsch said he used to avoid challenges. Now, he seeks them out, because he’s caught on to their power to empower. He sees himself as a challenge nut calling himself “a challengeaholic”.

#2 Success Secret: Belief! The more certain you feel about something, the stronger your belief. If you introduce doubt, you can weaken or kill a belief. Beliefs are not absolute truths, but we operate as if they were. However, we can change our beliefs whenever we so choose because we are in control of our beliefs. Beliefs are your Destiny! They shape your actions which create your results that stretch out over a lifetime. My friend Carl Janicek once said: “There are 3 types of people: Those that make things happen, those that watch things happen, and those that wonder how things happen.” Which one are you?

Napoleon Hill who wrote Think and Grow Rich describes a principle called, The MasterMind Group. It’s the "coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”

It's vital you find a group of peers-between 4 and 6, including yourself, with whom you can discuss all of your challenges and together seek solutions to your problems. You will find that 5 minds together have the total sum of much more than those five minds. They are the equivalent of one Super-Mind. (continued on page 3)

On the day of the New Moon using 1 of your actual checks write in the following:
    1. Do not date the check, leave it blank.
    2. Put your name on the “Pay To The Order Of” line.
    3. Write Paid in Full on the line where you would write the amount of the check.
    4. On the signature line write The Law of Abundance.

Take a sum of money, go outside and throw the money and check through the front door into the house. As you throw the money into the front door say, In through the front door shall bring all that I need. Have someone else with you who can pick up the money and check. Have the other person do the same for themselves. It’s fun to do this with your family, friends, and business team.
    Happy Prosperity!
